Advice for cleaning and to keep food hot longer...

I had the same problem as another reviewer with discoloration from stuff like spaghetti-o's. It sounds a little strange, but try spraying a little PAM on a paper towel and rubbing it on the 'rubbery' surfaces - worked for me with my daughter's thermoses like this. I've also found that washing on the top rack of the dishwasher gets the stains (and the gross greasy residue from condensed chicken noodle soup) out very well. To keep things hotter longer, fill the thermos with the hottest tap water you can, put the lid on and leave it sit awhile, then dump out the water and fill with the hot food. It'll still be quite warm at lunch time. Hope that helps. :)
Works great...

We just moved to colder climates last year so sandwich and chips just wasn't enough for our kids on cold days. My wife was trying to pack them a bowl that they could heat in the school microwave but our kids complained at the length of the line to the microwave.
We wanted to get a thermos that looked nice, encourages the kids to bring it back home, and was functional at the same time. So we picked these up because we could get different colors for each of the kids.
Now my wife will make them some hot soup at about 7:30 in the morning and by lunch time at 12:30 the kids have said everything is still hot. The other nice thing is they say all there friends comment them on their thermos.

I had a cheap plastic hot food jar for my little girl's lunchbox and after only two weeks the lid was cracked from the teacher's aides screwing it ont too tight so I needed an alternative (not to mention the food not staying too warm). I did my research and the Foogo looked like the best option. Well it WAS!! I pack my daughter's lunch at 7am and she says it's still warm at noon at preschool, and there's no chance of it cracking with that great stainless steel construction. I'm so impressed with the Foogo line I plan to purchase the matching leak proof straw cup. EXCELLENT!!
Product label says it all.

Works for us
Reviewed by: A. Olaussen, Review Date: 2009-12-27
My daughter is 6 years old and uses this for her school lunch. It is just the right size for a kids meal (with some room to spare). I usually rinse the inside with warm water before putting the food in and 5 hours later the food is still warm.
We alternate between the Zojirushi Mini and Foogo by Thermos. Both keep the food warm for the 5 hours needed. I would not store food in the lunch box longer than that, but if this was ever required I would use the Zojirushi as it seems to keep the food warmer longer. The Foogo costs a lot less, but does not come with the extra bowls and the bag. However, I do prefer the lid on the Foogo as it seems less likely to leak - although so far none of them have.
My conclusion: Both are good products and works well for us. I like to alternate and would buy both again, but if I had to choose one I would choose the Foogo for our use. It costs a lot less, but keeps the food warm until lunch time. I feel so confident that it will not leak that I put it into the backpack without protection and use a regular small lunch bag for milk, fruit and snack.

I am not sure what was wrong with the one negative reviewers cup (maybe her straw was loose or a random defect), but this is seriously the only cup that my daughter can shake, hold upside down, whether is is closed OR open, and is DOESN'T leak. I have bought every other straw cup out there, and this is the only one I now buy. I now own six of them, and they are all great. No defects in the ones I got.

Best Sippy

We tried many different sippy cups in trying to transition our son from a bottle to a cup and the straw style was the easiest. He didn't like the kind of sippy that you had to tilt and we wasted a lot of milk and juice that way. With this cup he can easily carry it around and nothing is wasted.
Only draw back that I can think of is that you need to promptly rinse the cup and straws after use as the straws can be difficult to clean.

I have yet to find a cup that really actually doesn't leak at all. When my two year old throws this cup on the ground, it leaks a little bit if left at a certain angle. But I prefer these over the Nuby cups because #1 they are easy to clean #2 Easy to take straw out and put back together #3 my son can't chew the part of the straw that keeps the milk from leaking (like on the Nuby's). I'll definitely keep buying these. Great for travel.

I had no experience buying sippy cups since Luke is my first baby, so I heard about this cup on a baby center blog, read the reviews and decided to give it a try... Luke started with it right when he turned 6 months...He loves this cup! The rubber type spout is similar to a baby bottle nipple so it is soft which is easy on his gums. (he has no teeth yet!) Anyway, he has no problem drinking from it. At first he thought it was a nipple, but he got used to it real fast. The only time it leaks is when he puts the whole end in his mouth and bites on it so he gets his shirt wet... but, it does not leak if it is dropped or flipped over .. which happens alot because he has learned how to drop or should I say throw things! Anyway, I HIGHLY recommend this cup. I looked for a second one at babysrus the other day and they didn't carry the same one. All of the other learner cups have a really hard spout which I personally didn't like. I am thinking about buying a couple more to keep at my mom's and the babysitter! The price is great too! I will upload a picture of him using it...

My wife and I purchased this product after trying several different types from local stores. Our son had two heart surgeries after birth and he was approching a year old and we hadn't been able to transition him to a sippy cup. The biggest problem we were finding was the texture of the nipple.
This sippy is easy for him to suck though and the nipple texture is flexable yet sturdy like bottle, not hard like most sippy cups. It our son about a day to get comfortable with it and has worked great since.

This is the second sippy cup I've tried for my 6 month old (the first one is a Nuby and she had a hard time with the spout). It is lightweight and easy to hold. The spout is longer than most that I've seen so it is a good transition from a bottle. It's also soft for little gums. I love that the handles spin around from the bottom of the cup so they are always in line with the spout.
I've used this cup for several weeks now and have never had a leak. I've carried it around in my diaper bag and it's been dropped repeatedly from the high chair (yeah.. we've started that game) with no problems.
She does usually end up with water all over her front when she bites on the spout, but that's going to happen with any cup when they are just learning.

I bought these after my son's daycare informed me that they have had problems with the lids on Take & Toss cups popping off. I like Take & Toss cups, which are made by The First Years, because they have no weird valves, are easy to clean, are cheap, and are transparent. I have had no issues with the lids popping off, but I have had several lids crack on me in the spout area and have noticed that the lids grow looser over time. I found these Munchkin cups at Wal-Mart. They have all the benefits of the Take & Toss cups plus the lid screws on to the cup. I don't think the daycare will have problems with the lid popping off with these Munchkin cups.

When it was time to transition our twins off soft spout sippy cups (we also used the Munchkin ones) we tried a number of hard spout cups, but found all the ones with valves hard for the twins to drink from and hard for us to clean. So we used the Take 'n Toss ones for a while until one of our boys started pulling the lid off with his teeth, spilling milk everywhere.
Finally we found these Twist Tight cups while searching Amazon. They are great: easy to clean, easy to drink from, inexpensive and pretty much spill proof. In fact I am so happy to have found them, this is the first review I have ever written on Amazon. The spouts do get chewed up easily but they keep working, and for the price, I don't mind replacing them.
I like the fact the lid screws on instead. And i love that they are easy to drink out of. These were the perfect sippy cups for my daughter to go from bottle to cup!
I bought these cups because I was tired of cleaning all the parts of traditional sippy cups. These are easy to clean and easy to assemble. However, they are not completely leak proof.
The problem....
When my kids transitioned from baba to cup there went drinking milk.. Not sure why they just didn't want to drink milk out of a cup.... I tried sparkly cups, talking cups, regular ole' cups, cups with straws, cups with lids, light up cups....well you get it.
Then I found this, its kind of close to a bottle, my 2 year old drinks milk again, thank goodness.......
Problem solved..
The only thing is that I've purchased/reordered more that one of these and they're two different cups, similar yes and they both are 95% spill proof, but one has a crooked spout and one has a straight one.
Love this cup plan on buying more....

I have a feeling this will be a great cup for our baby in a few months. He does drink water out of it if I am holding it up for him. I bought it because I read a review that it is a good cup for transition from bottle. He definitely figured out how to get water out of it right away but is still working on holding the handles and lifting it up. I think if it was smaller he might have an easier time hefting it. It does leak a bit from the cap right after it is filled and the handle does not stay put but spins around.

This looks exactly like the mam bottles he was using. A sippy cup is supposed to teach them how to drink sips out of a cup. This is just like using a bottle. I felt like by using this, I was taking one step backwards from the sippy cups that he was already using. In fact, with other sippy cups my 10 month old effectively takes sips. With the thinkbaby he sits there with his mouth attached for long periods of times just as if he was using a bottle. No good if your trying to transition to cups. In fact, it looks a lot like a bottle. Everyone thought I put him back onto a bottle. I think this one will take the back of the cupboard for a while.

This is a fantastic sippy cup!
Easy to screw on lids, valves stay put, neat shape helps little ones hold on to it better.
It seriously never leaks!
There are only a few things I don't like, but only significant enough to take 1 star off my rating:
-The spout gradually angles outward down towards the lid - makes it easy for it to slip out of my daughter's mouth compared to others.
-While I love that my daughter can hang on to this due to the shape, when I put a "no-throw" loop on it and she lets it fall, it will hang upside down. If she's in her stroller, the spout touches the wheels/ground - ew. If the smallest part were closer to the top, maybe it wouldn't do that.
-I wish there was an insulated version! I can see how that might be difficult though, due to its shape.
HIGHLY recommend. I have come to learn that there is just no perfect sippy cup. But, this is the sippy cup I prefer to grab if I'm going to be keeping her drink in my purse, since I KNOW it will not leak!
