I purchased this item at my local baby mega-store when they had just put them out on the sales floor, on a whim. I had just begun feeding my 4 month old baby at the time and was frustrated with how messy it was. The design of this product is brilliant, and what I realized after its first use is that the reason traditional spoons are so messy for feeding a baby is because the underside of a spoon gets as much food on it as the "bowl" side of the spoon, and a baby does not know to use their bottom lip to swipe that food so that it stays in their mouth. With this spoon/device, the orange part is flexible silicone that holds more than 3 fluid ounces of baby food. The clear top screws on once you fill the "handle" with the puree food. At the tip of the clear part is a small well shaped baby spoon that has a hole leading to the inside of the "handle". When you invert the spoon, the food settles down to the clear part of the handle, and with a little squeeze by the adult, the perfect amount of food comes out into the "bowl" of the spoon. NO FOOD ON THE BOTTOM OF THE SPOON!!! It has been almost 2 months now, and feeding time is a joy at my home for adults as well as our baby. He honestly eats better because of the easy delivery. Also, since you don't keep dipping a contaminated spoon back into a baby jar, whatever food does not get eaten during feeding time can easily be transferred to a storage container and used at the next feeding. I purchased another one of these spoons so that I can feed an entree and a side item at each feeding. Brilliant Product!!!
Well made, easy to use and very functional.

I purchase this spoon on a whim, figuring we might find a use for it from time to time. Little did I know it would become our favorite feeding tool.
1) My daughter happily eats from it. She sometimes has trouble getting all the food out of the bowl of the spoon, but it hasn't prevented her from enjoying the experience.
2) It prevents you from contaminating the remaining food. As my daughter tries new things, it sometimes takes her a meal or five to actually eat even a small jar of the new food. This spoon allows you to feed your child without dipping a spoon into the jar and thus contaminating it.
3) It's easy to store. The snap-on cap over the spoon does a fantastic job of keeping the remaining food in the barrel. We just pop the cap on and store it in the door of our refrigerator.
Just know that you will want more than one. We now have three so we can keep foods rotated throughout the day. It won't work for chunkier purees, but those first foods and smoother foods (applesauce, yogurt, etc) are fantastic in it.

This spoon makes feeding solids so much easier! We got this through Amazon shortly after my son turned 4 months old. It is a lot less messy to feed him now, and you can control how much flow you want (be careful, squeeze too hard and you get a lot!). The spoon is very easy to clean and eliminates the need for any extra bowls. There's a cool cap that clips on nicely if you need to refrigerate any remaining food. However, avoid using chunky food in it, as it won't pass through well (if at all).

The Boon Squirt is the best new invention. It makes feeding on the go so simple. It's easy to prepare my son's meal before we leave the house, pop the full spoon in the bag, and feed him when he's ready. I've never had a problem with leakage, it's very easy to use, and the size of the spoon is great for introducing baby to solid foods. It's also easy to clean. My only wish is that this would've been around when my other kiddos were babies. A must have...

I make homemade baby food so it's easy to go from fridge to squirt, not sure if you use jars how practicle it would be - filling, etc., but I would imagine it's still easier in the long run. Just wish they would make an interchangable top for chunkier baby foods. Once they're off 2nd foods it's goodbye boon squirt. Still worth the low price.

These sppons are great, and I definitely recommend them. As a new mom, I wasn't sure it was necessary to go with special covered spoons for my baby, but I am now a firm believer! My 4 month-old son bites down on the spoon when he gets excited and really likes what he is eating (bananas!!). I can definitely imagine his gums getting hurt if they weren't covered.
All of the spoons have been used and washed multiple times now, with no problems what-so-ever! They are also the perfect size for baby feeding. Overally, I definitely recommend them!
I got this tray last week, and we've used it for every meal since. My 19 month old son became a very picky eater and stopped feeling adventurous when it came to trying new foods. I put a few of his favorites in the nibble tray and then sneak in some new foods or some that he's tried before but isn't crazy about in the other tray areas. He still goes for his favorites, but he also works his way through the other food. Except for one thing that he really doesn't like, he has at least tried everything else I've put in it, and he's eaten a lot more of things that he previously wasn't interested in. He gets a variety of foods for a balanced meal, and he gets to control what order and how much he eats. The dip tray is handy too.
A possible con for some folks might be that it can't be microwaved. I don't ever microwave plastic, so this doesn't bother me at all. We use it for cold or dry foods (cheese, breads, fruit, etc.), but I guess you could warm something in a different dish and then add it to the tray once warm. The plastic is BPA free.
I will likely be ordering another one of these to use at daycare.

I confess I fell "prey" to magazine marketing when I bought this, but it looked like such a great item! And, indeed it is! We received it yesterday, ran it through the dishwasher and filled it up today. I thought it was going to be much bigger from the picture, but even with "3 strawberries" cut-up, 1/4 avocado, etc...it was plenty of food for my child. I showed her how to dip Cheerios into peanut butter and she loved doing that. My child, who has been ill recently and hasn't been eating, ate more today from the tray than in the last weeks! She may still be "overwhelmed" by the amount of food in the tray, so I still put smaller amounts on her high-chair tray.
I will be ordering at least two more and using one for her day at school in the fall...a much healthier option than a store-bought boxed lunch.
Now it's a few days later: Child is eating directly from "pineapple" and really enjoys the anticipation of what the "foods du jour" will be! Also, it traveled well with an ice pack to keep the food cool.
This is perfect for toddlers and pre-school aged children. My daughter loves to snack on many different foods and she has that option with this bowl.
We also love the dipping compartment which can be chilled (green part)!

Initially saw this fabulous product in Time Out New York Kids a few months ago. Kept it in the back of my mind b/c my 17-month-old son is fascinated by trucks. We've been having such a hard time getting him to eat at all, let alone use utensils. And the little interest he does take in using a fork or spoon is marred by frustration b/c most toddler utensils don't work very well. Then I remembered the Constructive Eating Utensil Set. Went online, read good reviews and decided to give it a try. When the package came, my son saw me open it and immediately wanted to play/use his new "toys." I had just tried giving him dinner within the hour; no success. I cut up some chicken (which he rarely eats) and an apple (he loves them). He immediately was able to spear the chicken with the fork and proceeded to eat an entire plate of food, by himself, clapping after each spoon- and forkful. My mouth was dropped open as was Grandma's. TOTAL SUCCESS! This product is magic. I also love that it's not made with paint and that the plastic is safe. I highly recommend it... And think it would make a great gift/stocking stuffer. Wish they would invent something similar for girls. Sometimes people gets things right. This is one of those times. Bravo!

This is a fabulous spoon! Basically you stick the baby food in the spoon put the top on and go. So whether you're at the park the mall or a restaurant you just whip it out and you're ready to feed your little one!
For those that make your own food its super easy - just take it from what you have made and toss it in there. But if you are using store bought stuff you have to scoop it into the container (which can be a little bit of an extra step but really well worth it). I found that stage one and two foods come out of this quite easily. While it says it only holds 3 oz of food I've gotten 4oz jars of baby food into it.
The hole is small so stage three foods are a little tougher but they still come out. Homemade stuff comes out if you puree it enough (not big chunks) and homemade yogurt (or the store bought stuff too!) comes out fantastic.
Its so easy to keep your little one clean while out and about. Keeping the spoon itself clean is easy because the spoon head has a cap. And clean up after is fantastic just rinse it with hot water and all the food comes out!! I've never had to dig into it like I thought I would...
I can't say enough great things about this. Its made life easier when we're out and about and its so darn adorable. It comes in pink & orange. Its easy to prepare use and clean...you cannot go wrong with this purchase!

I love this spoon. You can feed you baby with out making a huge mess. The food stays off the bottom of the spoon so the mess is greatly reduced. It is great for travel. We have two of the spoons. We fill them before we leave the house. Pack them in a soft lunch pack with ice packs and go. It is so easy to feed my son on the go. Just pop off the spoon cover (there is a cap for the "bowl" of the spoon) and feed. No bowl to deal with. It is easy to clean, just unscrew the two pieces and wash. I also use them at home, if my son doesn't eat all the food, I clean off the spoon part, pop on the cover and put it in the fridge. Since the food remains untouched in the handle, the food stays uncontaminated. They are larger than they look, about the size of a large carrot. They hold the large Gerber plastic tubs--3 1/2 oz, I think. The only downside: I have no idea what I will do with them when my son is feeding himself. If anyone has these and has any ideas, let me know.

Suction is good, but child can lift bowl....
Reviewed by: J. Karcsay, Review Date: 2010-05-21
I'll start out by saying that I do think this is the best suction bowl you will find. I have 2 kids and I've tried them all. Most suction bowls just don't stick. Don't know if I can mention other specific brands in my review- but trust me, I've tried them all- at least 4 other major brands sold here on amazon.com and they are all worthless... may as well just be a regular bowl.
I have one of these exact bowls from when my older son was a baby (in slightly different colors, but same manufacturer) and the old one is the ONLY suction bowl that I have that actually stays stuck ALWAYS. So I was very excited to find these- hoping they would be just as great as my old one. BUT they are not. The suction does not stick as well. It is easy to see why- the suctions on the new bowls that I just received are slightly irregular around the edges, creating a space for air to get under the bowl and release the suction.
As I said in my title, the suction is pretty good on the bowls I just received- but the bowls can be lifted by the baby. I am lucky- however, in that the bottom suction removes from the bowls and my old suction bottom works perfectly with the new bowls creating a super strong child proof seal. So overall I am happy with my purchase. And I must mention again- even this new version that is not absolutely perfect is better than any other suction bowl that I have found.
One last tip- never put your suctions in the dishwasher!!!! Even if the manufacturer says they are dishwasher safe- it ruins any suction ability the bowl once had.

I have have three young children, having used both this feeder and the previous feeder put out by Sassy the Sassy Teething Feederthis one is an improvement. The ring at the top of the feeding bag which sits inside the green ring on this version does not collapse where on the previous version it did. As a result with the previous version there was always a risk the bag could be pulled out from the feeder itself allowing baby direct access to whatever food was inside the bag, posing a choking hazard.
I do not agree with previous reviewers which said these are difficult to keep clean. Banana, Avocado, sweet potato, frozen cooked fruit it all comes out, and I've had no issue with it staining the bags, even when the food has been left in the bag for an extended period of time, rather then being rinsed out when baby is finished. I do not use bleach or anything like that to clean the bag. I rinse the bag as I'm turning it inside out, spray it with a little Biokleen Bac-Out Stain & Odor Eliminator with Sprayer, 32-Ounce Bottles (Case of 12) and let it sit for a few minutes while I'm loading the dishwasher, give it another quick rinse and then put it in the cutlery tray in the dishwasher. I don't consider that difficult to clean because I use Bac-Out on everything from carpet stains to laundry stains, I have yet to find anything it will not remove. Secondly turning something inside out to wash it is a pretty normal thing if you want your garmets to last, I'm not sure why the previous reviewers would suggest soaking an item, or turning it inside out makes it harder to clean. At some point in your adult life you are going to have to soak a pot, pan, baking dish, cups or other dishes and cutlery to get them clean this is no different, if you have kids there will be items which need to be soaked. I think the bigger problem is the cleaner being used not the product itself.
I also have had no issue with the ring cracking, chipping or otherwise breaking. I check them before I use them to make sure they are fine, just like I check all toys before the baby plays with them. He bangs them on the table, throws them on the ground, chews on the green ring and handle (prefers it to a teether toy) and at one point his oldest brother (4) was trying to play a strange mix of hockey and soccer with one of them. For me it has proven to be very durable. Maybe the other reviewer simply got a defective product, I suggest contacting Sassy to see if they will send out a replacement for the defective piece.
In short I feel it is a great product for helping babies to some control over and feed themselves. They learn through mouthing. This feeder has helped me to get my son to eat foods which he previously did not want, because he was introducing it himself, he could take little tastes. Instead of it taking 10 times of me trying give him a new food, using the feeder, it only takes 2 or 3 times. I'm very happy with it.

I have more than a few different toddler spoons in my cupboard--including the Sassy Baby Less Mess Toddler Spoon, the NUK Gerber BPA Free Graduates Scoopin Spoon, and the NUK Gerber Graduates Soft Bite Spoon For Toddler--and the Sassy spoon is the one that he has the best results with! I think the best part is that he can easily grab the handle with his whole hand--and the handle's rubberized texture also helps with holding it. I highly recommend trying this spoon!

I love that these are chemical free. they are very sturdy spoons/forks. I am unsure how much poking the forks will do, they are more "sporks" but still usable. The spoons aren't deep, but they will do for us! Was looking for an alternative to the cheapo plastic spoons i have, these are good! UPDATE: These spork/fork thingy's do actually poke! I like this purchase for sure! The spoons are small enough to use for a baby or big enough for my toddler who is 2 to use! I plan on using them when my youngest turns 6 months. Made in USA, TOO!
A bit small for my 3 year old son

I loved the idea of these forks and spoons for my 3 1/2 year old son, but they were a bit small for him. These would be perfect for a younger child from infant - 2 years old. I still use them, but not as often due to the size of them.
